More notes about the marina

Marina Parentium is situated in the almost circular bay of Plava Laguna (Blue Lagoon), 1.5 miles S of the harbour and marina of Porec. The marina is owned and operated by the Plava Laguna leisure resort company, which also operates the small resort and marina of Marina Cervar-Porat five miles N of Porec. Marina Parentium offers 184 berths for yachts up to 20 metres in depths of up to 4.5 metres.

Communication

Try contacting Marina Parentium on VHF channel 17 prior to entry. Alternatively, telephone or e-mail to enquire about berthing or advance reservations.

Navigation

The principal dangers in the approach to Marina Parentium are the numerous rocky islets and associated shoals lying up to half a mile offshore in the approaches from both N and S. In particular, Zontuja islet has dangerous shoals extending several hundred metres N. The safest approach is from NW, between Zontuja and Regata islets, leaving both islets, leaving Zontuja at least 500 metres to starboard. With a detailed chart, it is also possible to pass inside Zontuja if arriving from S, although this means skirting several other islets on the way. Entering the bay, stay in the centre of the channel as there are buoyed off swimming areas on either side. Depths in the entrance are 10 metres, although they shallow quickly as you move into the bay. The marina is tucked in on the NE side of the headland at the southern side of the bay. Depths in the marina range from 2.0 - 4.5 metres, the deeper water being towards the end of the pontoons. Shelter is reasonable, although strong NW winds create a surge.

Berthing

Berthing assistance available. Yachts berth bows or stern-to on the outer breakwater or one of five pontoons. There are laid moorings at all berths.
