Riga (/ˈriːɡə/; Latvian: Rīga, Livonian: Rīgõ, is the capital and largest city of Latvia. With 637,827 inhabitants (2018), it is also the largest city in the three Baltic states, home to one-third of Latvia's population and one-tenth of the three Baltic states' combined population. The city lies on the Gulf of Riga, at the mouth of the Daugava. Riga's territory covers 307.17 km² (118.60 sq mi) and lies 1–10 m (3 ft 3 in–32 ft 10 in) above sea level, on a flat and sandy plain.

The approach to Riga is via the river Daugava. The river is wide and the stream weak, so it is possible to sail the 8 miles up to the centre, but it is a busy commercial waterway. Watch out for unlit moorings.
Call traffic control (Riga Radio) on VHF channel 16 and 09.

Convinient location, on east side of the river, behind the ferry terminal and just down stream of the bridge. Accommodates 50 yachts in 8 - 3.5 m depth. Water, electricity, toilets, showers. Repairs can be arranged, nearby shops.

City Yacht Club
City Yacht Club in Riga, on west side of the river. Kipsala is one of the largest and most modern nautical clubs in the Baltic sea. It is situated just 15 minutes walk away from the city centre and Old Riga, in a quiet and clean area - Kipsala island. The marina can host for up to 200 yachts with a draft of up to 3.8 m. Water, electricity, toilets, showers, WiFi. Security cameras.

Port Bolderaja
In the summer 80 berths up to 30 m long and with draft up to 3 m. In the administration building there are toilets, showers, laundry, WiFi, a kitchen, and fax. Carpenter, sewing, and machine workshops.
