There is space for around 10-12 yachts on Rogač yacht quay

The small harbour of Rogač is situated roughly halfway along the NE-facing coast of the island of Šolta in Croatia, facing the mainland town of Split 10 miles NE. The harbour consists of a small, V-shaped inlet on the W side of a larger bay, quayed around its head.

Visiting yachts moor stern or bows-to on the quays on the N and S sides of the harbour, using the laid moorings provided, or on the mooring buoys provided by the Pasarela Restaurant in the S arm of the inlet. The inlet is protected in winds from most directions but is exposed in winds from N and NE. During busy periods, there is often little room for visiting yachts arriving late in the day.

There are no dangers in the immediate approach to Uvala Rogač, although the headland on the E side of the entrance is shallow for around 50 metres off. Depths in the harbour entrance are 10 - 12 metres and on the quays 4.0 - 5.0 metres.

Split is the nearest all-year round port of entry. During the summer, Hvar and, if arriving from N, Primošten on the mainland are also ports of entry.

Shelter in the inlet of Rogač is good in all conditions except with strong N or NE winds, when a heavy swell enters and nowhere is really comfortable.

The charter quay can be used when not full of yachts on handover

Yachts moor stern or bows-to the quays on either the N or S side of the inlet, past the ferry quay to starboard on entry. There is space for around 10-12 yachts stern or bows-to on the N side in depths of 3.0 - 4.0 metres. Mooring is to stout stainless steel mooring rings and there are two bowlines at each berth. The quay on the S side is used by the SailingEurope charter and, although there is room for a further 10-12 yachts here, berths are invariably full on Friday and Saturday nights. Much of this quay is shallow, so wooden staging has been built out to allow mooring here. Again, there are laid lines. Water and electricity are available on both quays and are included in the berthing price. Toilets and showers are available (no charge) behind the café on the quay.
The fuel quay is to starboard on entering

Space is tight in Rogač for anchoring and holding is not the best. The nearest more reliable anchorage is U. Necujam (See Solta island page).

The Pasarela restaurant in the S arm of the harbour has three mooring buoys

The restaurant Pasarela in the S arm of the inlet has three orange mooring buoys in depths of 4.0-5.0 metres, which can be picked up by customers. It is necessary here to also take lines ashore as the buoys are close together.

Grohote on Solta

The village of Grohote two kilometers uphill to the SW is worth the hike. Dating back to the 14th century, it is the oldest village on the island and Roman remains discovered nearby suggest an even older history. The village still retains many of its mediaeval streets and old stone houses.
