The bay Uvala Stobreč is located in 4 nM E from the city of Split centre and 10 miles NW of the small harbour of Omis. At the head of the bay, there is at the mouth of the river Zrnovnica.
On its W shore lies a small village and resort of Stobreč, which is a part of the Split municipality. Built on a scenic peninsula during the Hellenic period, the village still bears some remains of its former Greek defensive walls. The village’s other claim to fame is as the location for the nearby discovery of a sarcophagus inscription dating from the 3rd century AD and recording the achievements of Lucius Artorius Castus, a Roman commander formerly based in Britain and, according to some sources, the inspiration for the legend of King Arthur.
Another village, Podstrana, is at the E side of the bay. A sports harbour of the Lučica Strožanac and a small hotel's Marina Lav are located there.
On its W shore lies a small village and resort of Stobreč. The bay of Stobrec offers a good anchorage except in strong southerlies and the bay itself is most attractive.

The bay of Stobreč is easily identified on the approach from the village houses clustered on the peninsula. A rough breakwater extends for a short distance on the W side of the bay. There are rocky ledges extending 50 metres off the peninsula, which should be given a generous clearance if approaching from W. The breakwater itself has some damaged sections extending underwater from the visible end and this should be given clearance on the approach of at least 100 metres.
Berthing
On the W and E sides of the bay, there are small craft harbours with pontoons, but the depths here are too shallow for most yachts.
