Entrance is via the Conwy Approach channel marked by the fairway buoy, red and white, at 53°17.95′N, 3°55.55′W. Then follow the buoyed channel to enter the Conwy river. The channel is very narrow in some places and has several sharp bends. The channel and the position of the buoys changes regularly but up-to-date buoy positions and a pd of a map can be obtained from the Conwy harbour web site.
