The Darsena Porto Vecchio is situated in the town of Lignano at the end of the peninsula of the same name on the Adriatic coast of Italy, five miles NE of the river marinas of Lignano Riviera and at the western entrance to the Laguna di Marano. Originally the old fishing harbour, the basin has been converted into a small marina managed by the local tourist authority and offering berths for around 400 vessels of up to 16.0 metres in depths of 2.5 - 3.0 metres.
Marina radio contact
Call Darsena Porto Vecchio on VHF channel 09. Alternatively, telephone or e-mail in advance for berthing information and reservations.
The entrance to Lignano, which is also the westernmost entrance to the Laguna di Marano, is at 45°41.5′N, 13°10.0′E. Dangerous sandbanks extend offshore for over a mile on either side of the entrance and the safe water between the banks (which shift constantly) is marked by a red and white fairway buoy situated about 1.5 miles SSE of the channel. Yachts entering should pass within 50 metres of the buoy, which is moved to reflect the shifts, before turning on a course of c. 355 degrees to cross the bar and pick up the channel, which is marked with wooden posts (white to starboard and red to port). Depths in the channel are around 6.0 metres, but can be as little as 2.5 metres over the bar. Entry should therefore only be attempted close to high water and on a rising tide and never in strong onshore winds. Once in the channel, proceed for about a mile and the entrance to the huge Marina Punta Faro will be visible to port. Turn W to enter the marked channel that passes the entrance to Marina Punta Faro and continue along the curved breakwater until the basin of Darsena Porto Vecchio opens up to port after 600 metres.

Berthing assistance available on request. Berths are on 22 pontoons laid out from the sides of the basin and equipped with fingers. Space between the pontoons is tight and care is needed in maneuvering.
