The Carlo Riva Marina lies in the southern basin of the harbour of Rapallo, immediately S of the smaller Porto Publico, which is the local boat basin. It offers 400 berths for yachts up to 40 metres on its quays and three long piers. Shelter here is good in most conditions, although strong S winds make it uncomfortable.

The harbour lies four miles N of Capo Portofino at the head of a small gulf. The basin of Carlo Riva Marina is entered from N. Depths in the entrance are 5.0 - 6.0 metres and in the marina from 2.5 to 7.0 metres.
