Overview

Daydream island is entirely occupied by a resort. There are approximately 6 moorings to the east of the island along with a dinghy landing. The resort rents these moorings for approx $50 per night per vessel, and this gives the crew the run of the island and resort facilities. Facilities include swimming pools, outdoor spa pools, etc, and there are also showers and toilets.

Extras such as the restaurant, cocktail bar, massage services, etc, are at an extra cost.

Cruising the region

The tidal currents around the island can be quite strong, however the moorings appear to have good holding in all conditions.

Personal Notes

Personal experiences?

  • Delatbabel -- I visited there in 2009, and although the moorings are expensive at $50 per night, they are certainly cheaper than a room in the 5 star hotel on the resort. It was a welcome break from cruising the outer islands. We found the staff at the resort to be helpful and attentive beyond belief, considering that between the 5 of us we were paying approximately 10% of the cost of the other guests. Free use of the pools and spas were a welcome and unexpected bonus.
