The marina of Finale Ligure (otherwise known as Porto di Capo San Donato) lies a mile NE of the town of the same name on the coast of Liguria in Italy. The marina provides a total of 548 berths for vessels up to 17 metres, including 12 for yachts in transit. There are sand bars either side of the entrance, making entry dangerous in any strong winds from E.

Marina radio contact

Contact Finale Ligure Marina di Loano or Porto di Capo San Donato ) on VHF channel 16 or 69 prior to entry, but only following a prior telephone call (Tel: +39 019 603290).

Navigation/Approach

The harbour consists of a long breakwater, oriented NE/SW, and a shorter breakwater extending from the beach. A conspicuous tower at the root of the breakwater helps identify the harbour from offshore. The harbour is entered from NE, paying careful attention to the sandbars on either side. Depths in the entrance are only 2.4 metres, making entry dangerous with strong onshore winds.

Berthing

Yachts in transit normally berth on the end of the long breakwater, where there are laid moorings tailed back to the quay, or in berths temporarily vacated by resident vessels. Depths in the harbour range from 1.5 to 3.5 metres, the deeper water being along the long breakwater.
