Background
Great Thatch is an uninhabited island in the British Virgin Islands. It lies to the west of Tortola is owned by the British Virgin Islands Government. There is a small beach on the south west side of the island and no recognised anchorages. The highest point of Great Thatch is 18°23.20′N, 64°44.42′W
