The marina is part of a real estate complex and it is a hub of activity. They do not accept credit cards, only cash.

This is a port of entry and the authorities will meet your boat. If you are entering Tunisia you will be directed to first go side-to near the Customs. There will be many forms to fill-in but the officials are polite and reasonably friendly.

Warning: The WC/Showers (sanitaires) are anything but sanitary. They are also locked at night. You are better off using the public WC in the shopping complex.

Marina radio contact

Try to contact the marina in VHF channels 11, 13, or 16. They may not respond but they will be waiting for you. Alternatively call them on +21673 462 305.

Navigation/Approach

Danger: While the approach to Monastir is straightforward it is made dangerous my the numerous tuna nets which are not well marked. Under no circumstances approach at night and keep a sharp lookout.

Berthing

You will be shown where to go. There are laid moorings and usually they give 2 to each yacht.

Marina facilities

There many stores, bars, restaurants, etc. in the complex. Specifically:

  • A supermarche (supermarket)
  • A bank, ATM
  • Laundry, opens at 9:00 AM
  • The marina can arrange for a car rental

Repairs/Yard

There is a a small yard associated with the marina. They have a 35 ton travel-lift for haul-outs and do most regular repairs.

  • We left our boat here unattended for about a week. Had no problems. --Istioploos 17:13, 25 August 2008 (UTC)
