More notes about the Marina

The small harbour of Porto San Vito lies at the W extremity of the town of Grado on the lagoon of the same name, 11 miles E of Lignano and five miles SW of Monfalcone on the northern Adriatic coast of Italy. It offers 165 berths for yachts up to 20 metres in depths of 3.5 metres.

Marina radio contact

Try calling Porto San Vito on VHF channel 09 or 16. You may have better luck if you telephone or email in advance for berthing information and reservations. Alternatively use the push button in the entrance (see below).

Navigation/Approach

The entrance to the Grado lagoon lies at World icon.png 45°39.6′N, 13°20.9′E, where there is a fairway buoy just under two miles offshore. Dangerous sandbanks extend for almost two miles on both sides of the entrance, so approach is only safe from this buoy, near high water and in settled weather. Approach should be made on a course of 030 degrees. The entrance channel, which is dredged to a depth of just 3.0 metres, is marked by piles on either side. Once inside the entrance, the channel forks. Take the starboard channel and the entrance to Porto San Vito is a further 200 metres on starboard side. The basin is entered from NE. Depths in the basin are 3.5 metres.

Berthing

Berth on the welcome quay at the entrance and call the marina reception using the push button on the marina map to be assigned a berth. Berths are on a series of short pontoons and associated quays. Yachts in transit normally berth on the pontoon in the entrance. Berthing assistance available if required.
