Russell Island, Moreton Bay

An online cruising guide for yachts sailing to Russell Island.

Wedged between the mainland and North Stradbroke Island, Russell Island is a small residential island off the coast of Brisbane in Moreton Bay. It is 8km long and nearly 3km wide. Land prices are a bargain compared to adjacent coastal towns, reflecting the inconvenience of commuting to work by ferry. There is no airfield on the island, and the jetty is at the northen tip, which is where most shops and facilities are located.
