C&C 33' Sloop (1979) stability (New England)

Please assist me if you can...

I am 95% stuck on purchasing a 33' C&C sloop manufactured in 1979, these are my concerns. I will be using it around Cape Cod and the Islands (coastal cruising) do you think that it is unstable for those kind of all weather conditions, not that I would be sailing in a tropical storm to begin with? I have read that this craft does wonders in light winds; however, if you are New England sailer, you know that it's usually a constant 15+ sustained SW wind which can make it interested if your cruiser is not stable for those conditions in a sound and/or bay. I perviously had a 36' Islander Freeport which was a tank in New England, very stable and comfortable. She now rests at the bottom of davy jones locker near Wepecket rock just outside of Woods Hole due to night navigation and wind/current adjustment issues. Which is a discussion for another time and a lesson well learned to say the least.

Back to the point and another question..

This rig has a 12V electrical system with 110V shore power. Would it be a benefit to convert to a 110V altering the entirety of the electrical system all just to run some appliances and navigation instruments for a reasonably low expense, thoughts?
