Mediawiki engine upgrade
I wonder if there is any possibility of an upgrade of Mediawiki engine on this site to a recent version? I know this might sound quite blunt, but there is at least a couple of reasons behind this:
- A recent version of Mediawiki would allow to install some extensions (the most notable are ParserFunctions and Lua scripting) which would allow:
- to make helper templates like Coord more flexible
- to create templates which would bring some more structure into an article source, control its formatting and allow to get rid of repetitive typing (see, for example, Template:Listing at Wikivoyage)
- The currently installed version is not compatible with Mediawiki's tool called Parsoid, which in its turn does not allow to pack the content of this wiki for offline use (Talk:Nautical_Software#Kiwix)
