Zverinac Island lies a mile off the NE coast of the island of Dugi Otok in Croatia and two miles W of the island of Sestrunj. Barely 1.6 square miles in size and relatively low-lying, the island supports a population of just under 50 inhabitants, swelled during the summer by holidaymakers and day trippers from the mainland. There is only one settlement on the island, the village of Zverinac, situated on the W coast of the island around a mile N of the town of Bozava on Dugi Otok.
