Kilifi is a town with a population of 122,899 (2009 census) on the coast of Kenya, 56 kilometres (35 mi) northeast by road of Mombasa. The town lies on the Kilifi Creek and sits on the estuary of the Goshi River.

This is a well protected creek which is entered through a break in the outer reef. You will pass under a bridge (70'/21m) and, be careful of the power line spanning the creek soon after the bridge.

The markers through the entrance between the reefs are difficult to spot. Navigation under the bridge can be tricky due to silting so always attempt to get local knowledge by calling on VHF and asking directions from other local or visiting yachts.

Kilifi Creek is a port of entry/exit for Kenya. For details see Entrance: Kenya.

There is a customs office near the bridge and then proceed immediately by road to Mombasa or to Malindi to complete the immigration formalities.

There is no port.
