Overview
Pitcairn Island is one of the most isolated communities on the planet. The island is a tiny volcanic remnant, some 300nm from the nearest populated island group. It has a population of around 50.
There is no sheltered anchorage and it is impossible to safely leave a vessel untended. Landing on the island is difficult at the best of times and can be impossible.
