You can should provide a map of the island group, preferably well annotated and with a scale in nM.
Add here any background, cruising, and historical comments.
The Spratly Islands are a group comprising 45 occupied islands and a total of 750 reefs, islets, attols, cays and islands, with ownership (and thus border rights) disputed by five countries. This is due to the rich fishing grounds and the possibility of oil and gas reserves in the area.
