Valdivia (Spanish pronunciation: [balˈdiβja]), with 140,559 inhabitants, is a city and commune in southern Chile, administered by the Municipality of Valdivia. The city is named after its founder Pedro de Valdivia and is located at the confluence of the Calle-Calle, Valdivia, and Cau-Cau Rivers, approximately 15 km (9 mi) east of the coastal towns of Corral and Niebla.

Marina La Estancilla

This new marina, also operated by Club de Yates, is further down river. It can accomodate on floating docks yachts up to 40 m long and with draft up to 5 m. It is 10 minutes by bus from the town. Water, electricity, toilets, showers, WiFi, fuel. Shipyard (Alwoplast) for repairs of all kinds . Restaurants nearby.

Provisioning
The usual major supermarket chains are represented - Jumbo, Unimarc, Lider.
Fresh fish and produce of a high quality can be found in the riverside market on Costanera Prat, near the bridge.
Eating out
- Numerous good restaurants in both the city and along the road to Nielba.
Transportation
- In 2019 the Valdivia airport was served by 5 flights a day to and from Santiago. The airport is about 35 km north of Valdivia
- Airlines operating into Valdivia are Latam, Sky, and JetSmart.
- The bus terminal is a short walk from the centre of Valdivia. Regular departures to all parts of Chile. Schedules can be found here https://www.recorrido.cl
- Aproximately 10 to 12 hours to Santiago, 3 hours to Puerto Montt
