Denia is a great town with more festivals than anywhere else in Spain. Not to missed is the Fallas festival in March (second only to Valencia) and the Bous a la Mar in July.

Medium sized port - home to Baleria Ferries (to Ibiza/Mallorca/Formentera)

Submit details about the sailing/cruising in the area, etc.

Approach and Navigation

Approach from the East. The approach is simple and well marked. Give the coast immediately South of Denia a very wide berth as it is a nature reserve (20m DUK min) inside this area you must stay below 3s knots.

Check-in facilities (for Customs and Immigration)

Submit details about facilities for checking in - where to dock, location of immigration & customs, etc.

  • Marina de Denia: 38°50'8N 000°07'6E
Website. The Main marina to the port side on entry to the harbour. Expensive but nice, new and well serviced with bars and restaurants, showers, fuel quay (petrol and diesel), slipway, good security - Visiting vessels welcome. Call on VHF 9.
  • El Portet: 38º50'8N 000º07'E.
Website. To the extreme West end of the harbour on the starboard side as approached by boat. A lack of facilities are the only downside. One very nice bar and thats it. Half the price of it's big brother and very very friendly - Highly recomended. Showers, Slipway, Security. Visiting vessels welcome. Call on VHF9.
  • Club Nautico Denia: Limited info available. Lifting/antifoul services. Call on VHF9.

Grocery & Supply Stores

  • The town has countless coffee bars and cafes with reasonable shopping facilities. There are a number of main supermarkets a short cab ride or a good walk away. There is a fresh fruit and veg market in the centre of town.
Bar Cafe Ole is an 'English run Spainish bar'. Pete and Chris run it and make the best Gin and Tonic this side of anywhere. You'll find Bar Ole just along from the Hotel Port Denia. Right next Ole is the restaurant 'Arena'. Dutch run with huge portions, good quality and good prices.
