Budva (Serbian, Montenegrin: Будва, Budva; Italian: Budua, Greek: Μπούτβα, Butva) is a coastal town in Montenegro. Butva is the most touristic city in Montenegro. It has around 15,000 inhabitants, and is a centre of Budva municipality. The coastal area around Budva, called the Budvanska rivijera, is the centre of Montenegro's tourism, and is well known for its sandy beaches, diverse nightlife, and beautiful examples of Mediterranean architecture.
The city’s name derives from the Ancient Greek Βοῦς - Vous (Bull). According to the Greek Mythology the city was founded by Cadmus, Thebe’s first king.
Much of the architecture in the Old Town is of Venetian origin. Doors, hinges, windows, balconies and many other small but noticeable things seem to hold the Roman style of the Republic of Venice.
Budva is 2,500 years old, which makes it one of the oldest settlements on the Adriatic sea coast.

Personal Notes
Personal experiences?
- Loud music is heard widely along the seaside, but in the night, due to the intense nightlife, the music is defeating beyond endurance. I have never been subjected to this “phenomenon” in any other place in the world that I have visited. The music here never stops. FANEROMENI
