Gran Canaria
Background
Gran Canaria island is part of the Canary Island archipelago. Gran Canaria has an area of 100.55 km2 and it highest elevation is Pico de Las Nieves at 1,949 m. Las Palmas is the main harbor and largest city in the island with population of 376,953. The other islands in the archipelago are: Tenerife, Lanzarote, La Palma, La Gomera, El Hierro, and Fuerteventura.
