Irish Sea Cruising Guide

An online cruising guide for yachts sailing around the Irish Sea

Overview

The Irish Sea, also known as the Manx Sea, is that part of the North Atlantic which separates the islands of Ireland and Great Britain. It is dotted with freight and passenger ports on both sides. Other industries in the region include ship building, oil exploration, fishing and wind power generation.

Cruising the region

Apart from the ever-present commercial shipping, a yachtsman sailing the Irish Sea is likely to encounter whales, dolphins and seals, all of which inhabit the area.
