More notes about the marina |
Marina radio contact
There is an attendant who is usually absent. Call +30 2732 61 005.
See Monemvasía.
Berthing
The 'marina' is about one mile S of the castle and is in fact a small fishing harbor. Usually there is no one to assist you. The former pole system is gone and is replaced by a concrete quay oriented W-E. Inside there is no room for anything bigger than 40 feet (12 metres). Catamarans and bigger monohulls moor to the outside of the new quay. Very bad holding. There is currently (July 2014) no charge because the harbor is "under construction". Free water. See Google Earth for a visual update, the floating crane pontoon is gone.
Marina facilities
None.
For fuel delivery by a mini-tank call +30 2732 61 956.
Repairs
None.
Marina Location
The marina is very near the new town and about a 15 minute walk to the citadel.
Transport
There are daily buses to Athens. For taxi call Mr. Yiorgos +30 6973 531 071 or Mr. Stathis +30 6944 978 675.

Personal experience
- This is as basic a "marina" as you can get. --Istioploos
- Inside and outside the basin you can swim with the Caretta turtles who come feed on the fishing net cleanings.--OldBawley
