Port de l'Escale consists of two large basins protected by a series of breakwaters and is situated at the NW end of the commercial docks of [[Marseille]] on the Mediterranean coast of [[France]]. The basins contain a series of over 25 pontoons which are allocated to a number of yacht clubs and private societies. Most of the pontoons are not available for visiting yachts to moor. However, the SNEM yacht club (Société Nautique Estaque Mourepiane) has the largest number of moorings (650) and makes up to 50 of them available to visiting yachts. Owing to the limited depths the moorings are only suitable for yachts of modest draft (less than 2.0 metres) and length (less than 14.0 metres).
