The small harbour of Porto Scario lies on the W side of the Golfo di Policastro on the Tyrrhenian coast of Italy, along the ‘instep’ of the peninsula. The harbour is relatively shallow, although the entrance is deeper than that of Camerota. It provides a total of around 160 berths for vessels of up to 30 metres along its breakwater and quays. Shelter in the harbour is good, although strong southerlies cause an uncomfortable swell.
