Pserimos

GPS: 36°55.8′N, 27°07.9′E

Background

Pserimos (Ψέρημος) is a small island E of Kalymnos and N of Kos. It is subject to very violent gusts. The island has some lovely beaches.

Approach and Navigation

Approaches to Pharmakonisi are straightforward but with the meltemi there are violent gusts.

Anchorages

Pserimos Cove

GPS: 36°55.8′N, 27°07.9′E
The small village of Pserimos is situated in a cove on the W side of the island. The cove is somewhat protected from the meltemi but is subject to considerable swell. Unfortunately, during the summer days the little cove is very crowded by noisy day-trip caiques from Kos, and there is hardly any room for a yacht.

Caution: There is a reef N of Cape Sphuri.

East Cove

GPS: 36°56.1′N, 27°09.2′E
One can anchor briefly here when there is no wind. With a strong meltemi anchoring it is not tenable.

Other than a walk and enjoying the beeches there is not much to do here.
