Yachts moored in Risan harbour

There is space or around three yachts alongside the inner, land side quay of the harbour – between the two sets of steps – where the depths are 2.0 metres at the quay but 2.75 metres where your keel will be lying. It is not possible to moor along the outside of the breakwater, as this is a customs quay, or at the end (as suggested in some pilot books), since there is nothing to take lines to.

The bollards are widely spaced on the quay and set back around a metre, so it can be slightly tricky getting lines ashore. Shelter is very good in all conditions, although there can be fresh to strong overnight thermal N winds so it is best to berth with bows N for a quiet night.

The main Herceg Novi – Kotor road runs close to the harbour, so earplugs can be an asset.
