Solenzara is the first harbour when cruising north from Port-Vecchio. The town is rather dull and very touristy, but it does have the benefit of a medium-sized marina with all the usual facilities. The hinterland has tree-clad mountains terminating in the dramatic peaks of the Aiguilles de Bavella.

Local Weather

Solenzara is on the eastern side of the island and is thus sheltered from the prevailing NW winds. Seabreezes can set in during the summer months, but usually the area is one where yachts do a lot of motoring.
