Solenzara is the first harbour when cruising north from Port-Vecchio. The town is rather dull and very touristy, but it does have the benefit of a medium-sized marina with all the usual facilities. The hinterland has tree-clad mountains terminating in the dramatic peaks of the Aiguilles de Bavella.

Local Weather
Solenzara is on the eastern side of the island and is thus sheltered from the prevailing NW winds. Seabreezes can set in during the summer months, but usually the area is one where yachts do a lot of motoring.
Sources for Weather forecasts:
Access to the marina is possible in all weathers except with strong SE winds around force 7. Once in the marina, one is sheltered from all winds.
