Uturoa is a port of entry via the local Gendarmerie but final clearance needs to be done in Papeete. See the section on French Polynesia for further details.

There are two basic options for berthing in Uturoa:

  • Marina Apooiti, about 5km to the west of the town.
  • Berthing temporarily outside the main wharf of the town.

There are anchorage areas to the west and north of the town but be aware that there is a large no-anchor zone in the vicinity of the nearby airport.

See Raiatea for nearby anchorages -- no anchorage is available right near the town except just to the north of the Dream Yacht Charters base.
