Check In

At Marina ZarPar, Immigration is located in the marina. If this is your point of entry, Immigration will visit you on your boat. There is a flat fee of $43.00 to bring your boat into the country. And $15.00 per Visa per person for 30 days (easily renewable).

You will also be visited by Marina Guerra (Coast Guard) to whom you will provide your papers from your previous port, as well as copies of your passports and a crew’s list. You will have no further contact with them until you are ready to leave, at which time you will need to obtain a despacho (permission to go to the next named port either in the DR or out of the country).

You will also be visited by Drug enforcement (M-2), who will ask to check below deck. They will also ask you if you have any type of firearms which they will require you to surrender until you leave.

There is also a $100.00 service fee which goes to the Immigration office to support the people who work at this offsite location and also to the Marina Guerra when it comes time to get your Despacho for your destination when departing.

Once you have paid this fee, all tips and service charges related to Immigration and Marina Guerra are covered.

Check in and check out procedures at Boca Chica are extremely streamlined and the marina staff is trained to assist you. Upon arrival the entire process generally takes less than 30 minutes.

You should have copies of your Crew List available for both Immigration and Marina Guerra.

Clearance procedures vary somewhat from harbor to harbor in the DR.
