  • The Simón Bolívar airport has non-stop flights from Bogotá and Medellín
  • The bus station (Terminal de Transporte). It is all the way out of town on the main highway. To get there, you can catch a bus/colectivo with the sign "UCC TRANSPORTE" at carrera 1. The ride will take some 45 minutes and cost about COP$2,000

Give a short history of the port.

Places to Visit

The marina is on Calle 23. Find your way to Calle 19 (4 blocks north) and follow it inland. It is for pedestrians and full of cool little outside bars and restaurants.

Dino is the dude. He will come to the marina and do your entry paperwork for US$50 and help with anything else. Speaks excellent English and Spanish.

He says, "Don't think of me as your agent. Think of me as your friend in Santa Marta who is available 24 hours per day to assist with anything, absolutely anything."
