I am not clear what the "type" parameter does. It does not seem to make any difference. Istioploos 22:17, 25 March 2015 (GMT)

On a dynamic map it will be used (a) to generate a different markers (icons) for POIs of different type, (b) to show only POIs of a selected set of types. BTW even now it's possible to display different icons alongside the POIs in this wiki instead of universal world icon: a sailboat for a marina, an anchor for an anchorage, etc. --Vadp 16:46, 26 March 2015 (GMT)

We should revise the docs to explain all the parameters in addition to "type". Also we need to explain why "for marinas and other moorings at harbour quays, piers, etc." are the same or differentiate between them.

Do we mean by "buoy (for mooring buoys)" buoys inside a harbor that float mooring lines or free standing mooring where a boat swings? --Istioploos 19:38, 13 March 2016 (GMT)

I mean it's an anchorage equipped with mooring buoys (where an anchor is prohibited to deploy). It can be:
  • a single buoy per a boat where a boat swings around
  • a dual bouy arrangement: one for a bow and another for a stern
  • a bouy and a shore line combination where a bow is attached to a bouy and a stern to a shore line, but there no pier or quay is adjacent to there
  • anything else? --Vadim 17:09, 15 March 2016 (GMT)
  • a buoy that is private and you cannot use.--Istioploos 18:20, 15 March 2016 (GMT)

Well I guess it is not worth fussing this. I will mark as buoys only free standing ones outside harbors and marinas. But the icon is a very good addition. --Istioploos 18:20, 15 March 2016 (GMT)

I think the other 2 are equally important as you cannot go to the shore without your dinghy --Vadim 13:52, 16 March 2016 (GMT)
