Andy has lived on his Hylas 44 cruising yacht, Shah, since 2002. He is a full-time cruisor with occasional distractions to earn money, and spend it on trips home to the UK. Shah has been a major renovation project, consuming no less than 4 years in the boat yard in Phuket Thailand, and looks a little bit better for it.

He has worked his way up through the RYA sailing qualifications; was nominated for Yachtmaster of the Year in 2002, and hence was tempted into teaching sailing. He has theoretically gained a Yachtmaster Instructor qualification, though this has expired due to lack of use.

Andy qualified with a 1st B.Eng (hons) Computer Systems Engineering from Bristol University in 1987. And has run his own companies throughout his career. Never been a full time employee.

Andy took up sailing yachts in 1991, and is just getting to realise now how little he knows. At age 45 in 2011, he is started to feel that he is learning just a little bit faster than he is forgetting...
