Born 1938,high school Tupelo, MS, read all I could find about sailing, cruising, boats and dreamed.USMC 1955-58 enjoyed some big boats, carriers and etc. Stayed in SoCal, graduated Cal State University, Firefighter/Real estate investor 30 years. Started sailing in 1960, Star Class, Cal 25 in 1970 National Champ in 1972. Col 36 raced and cruised SoCal 1978 to 1982 and bought Cal 46 SATORI from Jack Jensen's estate. May 1, 1988 sailed away, 2 years in the Sea of Cortez, Central and South America, Caribbean, Bahamas, Chesapeake and now in Bayou Chico, FL with waterfront home, 135' dock and still own and love our Cal 46 after 34 years, 14 years living aboard and cruising. Health and age issues preclude any more cruising, so started my boat engine and transmission repair, Perkins 4.108 and Borg Warner gears. Business closed. Free advice available. I want to share our experiences and enjoy meeting cruisers who come to Florida panhandle.
