Master mariner / Marine Consultant well familiar with recent HS&E regulations and requirements based on a maritime career at sea ending as Master. Excellent technical and managerial skills and experience within the Marine Industry, both at sea and on shore with professional experience in safe ship operation, and business management. The candidate was previously at sea for 20 years gaining experience on Dry Cargo, Containers, Tall Ships, Passenger, Multipurpose and Bulk Carriers (15 years in command as master); experienced in Great Lakes ship operations, navigation in heavy ice conditions; After leaving the sea, was employed by a leading safety, inspection and training consultancy engaged in sailing on-board various vessel types to undertake safety and condition/pre-vetting inspections, and training the crew in safety and ISM/ISPS procedures. Other typical work included internal ISM/ISPS audits and assisting the crew, during change of management or new building deliveries, to comply with Class and Flag State requirements for ISM and ISPS audits, familiar with OCIMF-SIRE, TMSA, CDI requirements able to remain calm under pressure and retain a sense of humor.
