Tasha Hacker is a sailor, freelance writer and blogger for www.TurfToSurf.com. She sailed out of New York City with her husband and two cats aboard s/v Hideaway, a Catalina 34, in October 2012. They've since reached the Caribbean and have left their boat in Luperon, Dominican Republic, while they race in two legs of the Clipper Round the World Race. Starting September 1, 2013, they are racing from London, UK, to Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, then racing again from Cape Town, South Africa, to Perth, Australia. Once they have finished racing across the globe, Tasha and Ryan will return to their boat in the Caribbean and carry on cruising indefinitely.
