Baska is a popular holiday resort nestling in a bay between two mountain ranges at the SE end of the island of the island of Krk in Croatia. Originally a Roman settlement, the town was rebuilt closer to the sea in the 16th century and much of this later settlement remains today, although considerably altered. The town is very crowded with holidaymakers during the season and its harbour gets very busy. A visiting yacht will need to squeeze in wherever it can during the peak summer months, probably using its anchor, on the E breakwater.
