More notes about the Marina

Marina Pomer lies at the NW end of the large inlet of Medulin, which extends for nearly five miles inland just E of the extreme southern tip of the peninsula of Istria in Croatia. The marina is owned and operated by the government-owned ACI Club group of marinas, which also operates marinas at Umag, Rovinj and Pula on the west and Opatija on the east coast of Istria. Marina Pomer offers 253 berths in total for yachts up to 18 metres and in depths of up to 5.0 metres.

Marina radio contact

Call Marina Pomer on VHF channel 17 prior to entry. Alternatively, telephone or e-mail to enquire about berthing or advance reservations.

Navigation/Approach

The bay of Medulin is entered between the Cape Kamenjak at the southern tip of Istria and Cape Marlera two miles E. The main channel up to Marina Pomer passes east of the islet of Fenera at World icon.png 44°46.2′N, 13°57.2′Eand then between the islands of Ceja and Bodulas, favouring the side closer to Ceja, where the water is deeper. A course of NNW for a further two miles takes you through the main channel towards the islet of Premanturski Skoljic, which must be left to port. Marina Pomer is easily identifiable by a conspicuous white crane. The marina sits in a long, V-shaped inlet protected from S and E by a breakwater extending NE then NNE. Shelter once inside the breakwater is good, although berths on the breakwater itself can be uncomfortable in strong northerlies.

Berthing

Berthing assistance available. Yachts berth bows or stern-to on either side of the four long piers or on the inside of the breakwater. There are laid moorings at all berths.
