Sutivan is a picturesque but small harbour on the N coast of the island of Brač in Croatia, three miles W of the island’s main ferry port of Supetar and 10 miles S of the town of Split on the mainland. Formerly a busy fishing harbour, the village is now largely given over to tourism and its basin is today lined with small leisure craft bobbing on their moorings.
Visiting yachts must squeeze in wherever they can as there is no specific provision for them, but the charm of the village is such that the effort is worth it. The shelter is good except with strong NW or N winds, which cause a potentially dangerous swell.

The approach to Sutivan has no hazards. The harbour is entered from the NW. Depths in the entrance are 6.0 metres and along the quays 2.0 - 3.0 metres, the better depths being on the breakwater.
Entrance
Split is the nearest all-year round port of entry. During the summer, Hvar, Vis and, if arriving from N, Primošten on the mainland are also ports of entry.
Berthing
Sutivan Harbour
Berthing options are very limited in the harbour. Moorings for small leisure craft line most of the quays and a visiting yacht must squeeze in wherever it can.
Go alongside the breakwater if you can find space; the depths here are 3.0 metres. There is usually room at the end unless other yachts have got there first.
Alternatively, drop anchor carefully clear of the moorings and go bows or stern-to the breakwater quay wherever there is space. Shelter in the harbour is good in most conditions except for strong N or NW winds, which, if they are very strong, would make the harbour untenable.Anchorages
The nearest sheltered anchorage is U. Stipanska four miles SW around the coast.

Tourism
Sutivan is a charming village, full of old buildings, and a delight to explore. There are several imposing palaces and summer houses of former Sutivan and Split worthies still preserved in the village. The fortified house of Jakov Nadali-Bozicevic, built in 1505, still retains many of its original features. Also worth a visit is the 16th-century parish church of the Ascension (its bell tower is conspicuous on entering the harbour).
