Obtaining text or voice forecasts of the local weather conditions in the Society Islands is difficult if you do not speak French.  There was an indication in one of the cruising guides that an English language forecast was given on a particular VHF station but I failed to hear anything on that station at the appropriate times.

Generally cruisers will arrive in the Society Islands from the east (or occasionally from the south).  That makes [[Tahiti]] a suitable first stop.  After obtaining the necessary clearance in Tahiti, the islands can be traversed in the order [[Moorea]] - [[Huahine]] - [[Raiatea]] - [[Tahaa]] - [[Bora Bora]].

The Society Islands are a group of islands in the south Pacific, administratively part of French Polynesia.
