Savar
| |
The picturesque, small harbour of Savar is situated on the SE coast of the island of Dugi Otok off the mainland coast of Croatia, two miles W of the N tip of the neighbouring island of Iz. The hamlet and its short jetty lie at the S end of a U-shaped inlet open N and protected from E by a short spit of land with a conspicuous church on the end. The harbour, though charming, makes little concession to yachts, which must tie up on the outside of the miniature harbour, the inside being taken up with small craft moorings. Shelter here is good in all conditions but strong northerly winds.

There are no dangers in the immediate approach to Savar from N. Approaching from S, beware of the rocky islet lying just over a mile SE of the conspicuous church and around 500 metres off the coast of Dugi Otok.
Entrance
Bozava is the closest seasonal port of entry. The nearest year-round port of entry is Zadar.
Berthing
Visiting yachts berth alongside on the outside of the L-shaped jetty that encloses the shallow harbour just S of the church. Depths alongside are 5.0 - 6.0 metres. There are no facilities here. Shelter is good in winds from all directions except NW round to NE.
