The picturesque, small harbour of Savar is situated on the SE coast of the island of Dugi Otok off the mainland coast of Croatia, two miles W of the N tip of the neighbouring island of Iž. The hamlet and its short jetty lie at the S end of a U-shaped inlet open N and protected from E by a short spit of land with a conspicuous church on the end. The harbour, though charming, makes little concession to yachts, which must tie up on the outside of the miniature harbour, the inside being taken up with small craft moorings. Shelter here is good in all conditions but strong northerly winds.
