Kerch (Ukrainian: Керч, Russian: Керчь, Greek: Παντικάπαιον Pantikapaion, Turkish: Kerç) is a city on the Kerch Peninsula of eastern Crimea, an important commercial port and the tourist centre of Ukraine.

Approach and Navigation

Warning: You must be extremely careful transiting the narrow and shallow Kerç Channel.

Kerç Channel

Kerç Channel separates Russia and Ukraine and is the entrance to the sea of Azov. It is 24 nM long and runs north to south. It is dredged, well lit and buoyed.

Check-in facilities (for Customs and Immigration)

Kerch is reported as a port of entry. he authorities will come to the boat. Do not step on land before clearance.

It has been suggested to notify the authorities a day be before departure.

Berthing Options

The harbor is is open the east; the best shelter is at the SW corner of the bay.

When you arrive moor to a commercial pier and after clearing with the authorities anchor at the SW corner of the bay.

Anchor in the SW orner of the bay. It is reported to be more then 3 m deep.
