Anafi (Ανάφη) is a small, 40.370 km2, island with only about 270 inhabitants, It is the southesternmost of the Cyclades. It is a barren island seldom visited by yachts because its small harbor does not offer good protection.

According to the Greek Mythology Apollo caused Anafi to emerge from the sea, during a bad storm, in order to give protection to the Argonauts.

Skala Anafi is the only harbor in the island. It is open from the southwest to the east. With a meltemi there are strong gusts and a very uncomfortable ground swell. There is only one breakwater full of caïques. If there is no room at the break water anchor off in 3-5 m on sand and if possible take a line to the breakwater.
