An online cruising guide for yachts sailing around the Australian Capital Territory
The Australian Capital Territory (abbrev. ACT) is Australia's seat of government, with a population nearing 500,000 mostly comprising public servants. From this you can easily surmise that it's an inordinately boring place, and you wouldn't be far wrong.
The ACT and its only city, Canberra, are landlocked by New South Wales making it unique among Australian territories.
For weekend sailing, the best option is to head down to the shores of Lake Burley Griffin and either hire a boat or bring a trailer-sailer. The more serious yachtie will undoubtedly make his way to Batemans Bay on the New South Wales coast, which is only a few hours' drive.
