Marinas & Yacht Clubs
There is no marina and anchoring with two anchors or a borrowed mooring is recommended. The "Club de Yates" at the "Base Naval", Caleta El Manzano is usually open for visiting yachts.
Anchorages
- The best yacht anchorage in the bay is in Caleta Rere (Caleta Los Morros) in the westward hook of white due south of the Morro Grande.
General
Artisanal boatwrights are available and the nearest haulout is by crane at El Manzano or by marine railway in Coronel. The closest travelift is at Alwoplast in Valdivia.
Potable water is available (by arrangement) at the University Marine Station, otherwise by jerry jug in Tome' or Talcahuano.
Fuel (diesel and petrol) is available by hose at Tome` and/or by jerry jug in Dichato.
LPG can be filled or standard Chilean tanks exchanged.
Commercial laundries and dry cleaners in Concepcion and "housewife laundry" services can easily be found locally.
Medical sevices are good with two local Hospitals.
Transport services are available (buses, taxis, trains) and Concepcion's airport (CCP) is close by at Carriel Bajo (principle carriers LAN & SKY).
Internet & phones - Cyber Cafes are widely available and many hotels have WIFI. Ordinary phones are available while a Chilean prepaid cellphone is a good purchase.
Stores - A good selection of food stores (supermarkets), farmer's markets and wholesale vendors.
Hotels - A good selection of hotels in Concepcion.
