The purpose-built basin of Marina del Sole is situated four kilometers E of the town of Fossacesia on the Adriatic coast of Italy, 10 miles SE of the port of Ortona and a similar distance NW of the harbour of Porto di Vasto. Within the basin the Marina del Sole has been established and provides just over 400 berths for smaller yachts of up to 12.0 metres.

During the summer months, the prevailing winds in the Adriatic are light to moderate coastal sea breezes.
