The wide bay of Lovište lies on the NW tip of the Peljesac Peninsula on the Adriatic coast of Croatia, around four miles N of the island of Korcula and seven miles S of the island of Hvar.
It is a popular anchorage for yachts on passage between Dubrovnik and the islands of Korcula, Hvar, Vis and Brac. The best anchorage is in the NW part of the bay, although in settled weather it is possible to anchor off or go stern/bows-to at the small settlement of Loviste at the SE corner of the bay.

The bay of Loviste (also known as Uvala Luka, of which there are confusingly numerous examples in Croatia) is situated two miles S of the headland of the same name at the tip of the Peljesac Peninsula. In the approach from S a yacht needs to navigate the numerous islets off the island of Korcula before rounding the long headland of Rt Osicac and heading NE for 1.5 miles into the bay. From N the entrance is equidistant from the headlands of Loviste and Osicac. There is a light structure on the N side of the entrance Fl R 3 secs. There can be disturbed seas in the entrance in strong NW/W winds.

Anchorages
The best spot to anchor is in the cove at the NW corner of the bay, where there is good shelter from the prevailing winds. Anchor in 6.0 - 6.7 metres wherever there is space. The holding is good in sand and mud. During the season, the anchorage is busy with yachts on passage and a charge is usually made. Alternatively, in settled weather it is possible to anchor in similar depths off the hamlet of Loviste at the SE corner of the bay. There is a short pier here and a yacht of moderate draft may be able to go alongside or stern/bows-to the adjoining quay if there is space. Depths on the pier range from 2.5 metre at the root to 5.0 metres at the end. The quays either side have depths of 2.5 metres.
